  • US CONSUL GENERAL VISIT

    On 25 June 2014, the United States Consul General for Eastern India, Ms. Helen LaFave, visited the Anudip and iMerit joint office in Salt Lake, Kolkata. After meeting employees and understanding their various projects, Ms. LaFave applauded the impact Anudip and iMerit have had in providing skills training and creating livelihood opportunities for marginalized youth and women in the IT sector.

    The Anudip and iMerit leadership team presented an overview of the integrated business model and the impact both organizations have had in the beneficiaries’ communities. After the introduction, Ms. LaFave was invited to explore the different fields of work.

    While touring the office, Ms. LaFave took the time to chat with many Anudip and iMerit employees, asking about their projects and career aspirations.

    Ms. LaFave interacted with our livelihood training teams and with alumni who are in jobs and business startups. The curriculum team demonstrated the new e-learning technology solutions. Rima Naskar and Sulata Mondal two women entrepreneurs from Swarupnagar village near the Bangladesh border were delighted to meet the Consul General.

    Salt Lake’s iMerit team, with additional representatives from our Metiabruz and Baruipur centers, then explained the different projects they are currently involved with. Very interested in the work iMerit is doing for its U.S. based clients, such as the Catholic Relief Services, Bloomberg, IEEE and Uber, Ms. LaFave also asked team members about their personal experiences of interacting with international clients.
