• Laxmi preferred income than a wedding

    23-year-old Laxmi Venkatsrinivas Reddy coming from the small town of Kolhapur, Maharashtra took over the family responsibility when her father met with a sudden accident.

    Laxmi’s father says,”πΏπ‘Žπ‘₯π‘šπ‘– 𝑖𝑠 π‘‘β„Žπ‘’ π‘“π‘–π‘Ÿπ‘ π‘‘ π‘”π‘Ÿπ‘Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘Žπ‘‘π‘’ π‘œπ‘“ π‘œπ‘’π‘Ÿ π‘“π‘Žπ‘šπ‘–π‘™π‘¦. 𝐼𝑑 𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑒𝑑 π‘Ž 𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 β„Žπ‘Žπ‘£π‘–π‘›π‘” π‘Ž π‘‘π‘Žπ‘’π‘”β„Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿ π‘™π‘–π‘˜π‘’ β„Žπ‘’π‘Ÿ.” Her parents have considered her nothing less compared to a boy.

    Back in Kolhapur girls were meant to be wedded off yet Laxmi contesting stereotype preferred income than a wedding. Unlike other peer groups who took up the decision of getting married. Despite the community pressure of getting married to ease off the father’s burden, Laxmi took up employment as a refuge to bring employment on the platter.

    The harsh reality struck when a graduate like her faced back to back unemployment rejections. She had to take up tuitions and other odd jobs to support her family. Yet her quest for a dream career was still on search until she came across the Java Web Programming training atΒ Anudip FoundationΒ Skill and Career Development centre, Airoli.

    She started her course after her job hours and dedicated herself to the training completely. Laxmi attended her first interview atΒ CapgeminiΒ which she cracked with ease. Laxmi is now earning a package of INR 3 lakhs per annum in a multinational company. β€œπ‘‡π‘œπ‘‘π‘Žπ‘¦ π‘šπ‘¦ πΏπ‘Žπ‘₯π‘šπ‘– π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘ π‘œπ‘›π‘Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘  π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘Žπ‘™ π‘‘π‘Žπ‘’π‘”β„Žπ‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿ π‘œπ‘“ π‘π‘Ÿπ‘œπ‘ π‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘–π‘‘π‘¦β€ says the proud father who credits his only daughter-who took up responsibility of the entire family.
