Ajit Nayak, a determined 21-year-old hailing from Odisha, found himself in a conundrum during job interviews. He wrestled with the age-old questions like “Tell me about yourself” and “Why do you want to work here?” — a precarious tightrope walk between revealing too much and repelling potential employers.
Ajit had been labeled as a victim of “poverty,” a tag he never willingly accepted. He believed he wasn’t just surviving but merely existing, caught in the ever-widening gap between the rich and the poverty-stricken. Armed with a college degree, he ventured into the real world, carrying the weight of his family’s financial struggles. With a meager monthly income of INR 7,000 and a father battling to keep a small business afloat, the burden of responsibility was overwhelming.
Yet, January 2023 marked a pivotal moment in Ajit’s life. He embarked on an extraordinary journey by enrolling in Anudip’s Career Enhancement course in English Communication and Information Technology program at the Kuakhia training center, Odisha. “I had an insatiable hunger for knowledge,” he shared, as he delved into the intricacies of Workplace Communication, Business Management, Programming, Advanced Programming, Financial Accounting, Data Structures, and Algorithms.
With newfound determination, Ajit leveraged his support network and explored available opportunities. This led to his remarkable achievement of securing a position as an Associate at Accenture, with a monthly salary of INR. 20,000.
