    ITC Mission Sunehra Kal for Sustainable & Inclusive Growth, one of the leading Social Investments Programme (SIP) of the country, as a part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) for the fiscal 2020 –2021 partners with Anudip Foundation for economic empowerment of at-risk youth and people with disabilities from low-income communities of Assam by training in new-age skills for digital employment. To mark this event, ITC and Anudip launched its Skill & Career Development Centre along with a Job fair in Mangaldahi which is 68 km from Guwahati city on February 14th, 2020.

    This launch would not have been possible without the on-ground success of ITC-Anudip’s 5 years long term association which offered underserved youth from Howrah in West Bengal with employment linked training sessions leading to new economy job opportunities and financial security. Eminent Guests of Honor at the event were Eminent Guests of Honor at the event were Sweety Gogoi Kalita, District Development Commissioner, Darrang, Manik Sil Sharma, Chairman, Mangaldoi Municipal Board, Paresh Sharma, Ex- Principal, Mangaldoi College, and Deepak Sindhe from ITC Limited. The event was thus a joint celebration of launch and job-drive which assembled leading multi-sectorial employers like Bharti Axa, IIFL Finance Ltd, Nexg Softech, and Jana Small Finance Bank to a pool of job-seekers, who are ready to be trained on smart job skills from Anudip-ITC.

    With this new strategic alliance, Anudip through its unique technology driven program will train 300 unemployed youth aged between 18-30 years with a 50% placement mandate. Designed to develop digital cognitive capacity of young people, the training curriculum will offer career aspirants from access-limited underserved locations, a choice of functional proficiency in digital literacy, financial literacy, English, Interview Skills, and workplace readiness to help them secure sustainable careers and economic empowerment.

    Commenting on the scope of impact, Monisha Banerjee, CEO, Anudip Foundation, said “The ITC partnership will enable us to penetrate newer pockets in the state of Assam and bring more youth into the formal sector.”
