Sadhana Computer Centre is owned by Md. Hafijul Gazi, Snigdha Sarita Bera and Abhiram Bera, opening in early 2010. With the help of Anudip’s DREAM program the budding entrepreneurs identified an opportunity to start a reasonably priced local internet surfing facility. They decided to found Sadhana Computer Center to meet the growing demand. Before joining Anudip the three owners didn’t think IT could be a tool for their livelihoods. Anudip’s IT training and Entrepreneurship Development workshop opened their eyes and introduced them to the possibility of running an IT enabled business. After completing Anudip’s MAST training, these three students decided to start a cyber café business in South Barasat. They started their operation with two computers, one printer and one scanner as an equipment loan from Anudip Foundation. Observing Barasat’s evolving market demand, they gradually started identifying new directions they could take their business. They obtained one more computer, one photo printer and one digital camera. They also proceeded to hire one part-time and one full-time employee for DTP work and to run the studio. Now they are catering to local demands by providing a wide range of IT services at reasonable rates. Not only are these young men creating wealth for the community by making IT services available locally, they are playing a very crucial role as agents of change in Barasat. In addition to their cyber café, these young men are running an orphanage home. Though most of their support comes from outside donations, they now believe that they can help support the orphanage home using proceeds from their business.
