Manabindu Saha - MAST Graduate

Manabindu grew up with his family in Kulpi, a small village 80km outside of Kolkata. He is the only child in his family; his father is a day laborer who earns about $60 per month and his mother is a housewife. After graduating high school Manabindu had trouble finding work. With very few opportunities for employment in his community, he began searching elsewhere. Although he had the drive and the willingness to learn, he was turned down in the few interviews he faced because of a lack of English and a lack of any technical knowledge. He began searching for solutions. After hearing about Anudip’s MAST program from a friend, he decided to enroll in the course at Anudip’s Diamond Harbor Center not far from his home. Teachers quickly saw that he had a natural affinity for technology and was a very fast learner. During the course of the training Manabindu steadily became more confident in his English and IT skills. He was offered a number of jobs after graduating from the program and even received one job that paid Rs. 22,000/Month (about $500) with Tata AIF Life Insurance Company as a Team Leader. Although he accepted this job, he was concerned that he wouldn’t be able to prosper within the company in the long run. “It was a good job, but I believe I will be better off joining with a company who I have a future with. Of course I would like to take a job close to my home, or for more money, but it is more important to me to decide if it is a good company to work for.” Manabindu said. Obviously Manabindu is a young man with his eyes set on a bright future. He is currently working for Aditya Birla Minac (a tele-calling company) in Sector Five, Kolkata. He has added greatly to his family’s income, and in turn enriched his village community. Manabindu currently plans on finishing a Hardware/Networking course and is saving up to pursue his MBA. “Before I enrolled in MAST I did not have the confidence to face interviews for good jobs. Anudip gave me the courage andskill to be confident enough to get many job offers. My family is proud of me.”
