Anudip begins expansion into North Bengal The Indian tea industry in North Bengal and Assam has been in the doldrums for many years and has led to severe difficulties among tea plantation workers to make a living. Anudip has completed a study funded by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust to establish that the feasibility of its livelihood enhancement model that has been proven for the Sundarbans poor, can be replicated in the northern district of Jalpaiguri. Anudip expects to commission the first three Linkage Centers in North Bengal in December 2009 |
Anudip Foundation for Social Welfare, a section 25 Indian non-profit company headquartered in Kolkata, provides enhanced livelihood opportunities for marginalized people through rural training centers that develop skilled information technology professionals and entrepreneurs Our vision is to bring India’s IT-based prosperity to rural and semi-urban regions and to create a large pool of trained workers for the new economy |
